 CARF:  The Rehabilitation Accreditation Commission
When the service or program you choose is CARF-accredited,
it means your provider has passed an in-depth review of its
services. It is your assurance that the provider meets rigorous
CARF guidelines for service and quality -- a qualified endorsement
that your provider conforms to nationally and internationally
recognized service standards and is focused on delivering the
most favorable results for you.

On July 26, 2010, CARF announced that Friendship Industries, Inc.,
has been accredited for a three year period for its four programs: work adjustment, extended employment, supported
employment/situational assessment, and job placement.
This latest
accreditation is the 4th consecutive Three-Year Accreditation
outcome that the international accrediting commission has awarded
to Friendship. A three-year accreditation represents the highest
level of accreditation available.

Transportation:

Friendship has four (4) vans that travel over 500 miles each day in their efforts to get everyone to and from work. United Way funds help support this endeavor. Friendship Employees also utilize the Harrisonburg Transit City Bus System and Paratransit services.

Nearly one-half of Friendship's trainees and on-site extended employment Employees are transported to work and home again by our transportation system. Here is a break down as of July 2010 on how Friendship clients get to and from work:

41% of our clients ride Friendship vans
12% of our clients ride Harrisonburg's Paratransit van
(Friendship provides for payroll deduction for these clients.)
47% of our clients are considered "self-transporters" who do not ride Paratransit
("Self-transporters" drive, ride with someone else, and/or ride a bicycle or moped)
