Our mission to develop and maintain employment and training opportunities for persons with disabilities in integrated work environments touches so many lives here. The thread of Friendship intertwines us all...abled, disabled, ill and not ill, working or at home.
Friendship is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization. Your tax deductible donation supports independence, dignity and quality of life for persons with disabilities.
Gifts to Friendship Industries are your personal statement about the worth of human dignity.
And, the thread of Friendship that binds us as a community confirms that human dignity is important to you. Friendship has seen gifts to our annual operating fund increase steadily over the years, assuring us that we are on the right track in helping the physically and mentally disabled. The community has helped us and we appreciate your gifts.
We continue to need support....
Why Do You Need My Support? We need your support to improve our current programs and services. We are serving more persons with increasingly varied needs each year. In order to maintain our programs, we must continue to rely on funds from private sources. As our commercial options move away from handwork and become more automated, those with the most severe disabilities are left with fewer and fewer work options.
We need your support to provide new programs and services. Persons with disabilities come to us for many needs - not only job training as you might assume. We provide showers for those who have none, we provide transportation for all clients, we provide sign language for those who have trouble communicating. These are necessary in the work world but they are not what people think of when they think of job training.
Friendship generates over 80% of our own revenue with our commercial enterprises. Our commercial operations are a real business with very real customers and quality controls in place just as any for-profit business. The nature of an organization like ours (an Employment Service Organization or ESO) is that we are not able to meet 100% of our revenue. That is why Friendship is a nonprofit. (Read more about the Economics of ESO's here.)
You can make a pledge or gift today with your credit card and start making a difference... one life at a time.
We participate on GuideStar, the on-line standard for nonprofit accountability. Take a look at our listing:
