Qualifying for NonProfit Mailing Permits
An organization must meet specific guidelines to qualify to mail at nonprofit rates. For more information on qualifying for nonprofit status and paperwork requiements, click here for:

Note: Nonprofit tax status does not necessarily mean your organization will qualify for nonprofit mailing status.
Transferring existing NonProfit status to Friendship Industries
If your organization is already authorized to mail at Nonprofit Standard Mail rates at one Post Office, you may request authorization to mail eligible material at another Post Office without going through the original application process.
For your convenience, click here for: USPS NonProfit Permit Transfer Form PS3623, last revised October 1996.
On this application, you must show the exact organization name as originally approved. (If your organization's name has changed, include the official documentation substantiating the change.) If you include your organization's original Authorization ID Number on Form PS3623, the postmaster can request the additional authorization by telephoning the NonProfit Service Center.
To make a transfer for you, Friendship will need Form 3623 and a letter on your letterhead. For your convenience, click here for a template for a NonProfit Transfer Request Letter.
If you do NOT have a NonProfit Permit of your own and have been using the permit of another mailhouse, Form 3623 and a letter on your letterhead still applies. Click here for a template for a NonProfit Transfer Request Letter with NO Permit Number.
